Cleveland Golf Club pulled out all the stops to make the Yorkshire Amateur Championship a success and the feed back from players, officials and spectators verified the hard work put in. The course was in excellent shape for the 150 competitors who teed up on a cool, windy and overcast Tuesday morning. The cut was made after two rounds with the leading competitors playing twice on the Thursday. Max Berisford from Ilkley GC was the eventual winner with an excellent score of 12 under par closely followed by Oliver Caton and Habib Khan on 10 under par. Home star Sam Millington cam joint 14th with 3 over.
